Workshop at ESADTPM - École Supérieure d'Art et Design Toulon Provence Méditerranée

Between zenith and nadir, experiencing space at a given time

Experiencing space during a given time between the double orientation of nadir and zenith

This workshop is not a dance workshop, but is open to all artists who reflect on and act upon space, both internal and external.

5-day workshop from November 18 to 22, 2024, 6 hours a day 11am/1pm for the first day then 10am/13pm - lunch break - then 2:30pm/17:30pm.

Relate the architecture of the site to that of the body. What are the points of articulation, the points of connection between verticality and horizontality? Is it possible to decipher a rhythmic score on which to base a possible operation? Find your place, a place, places - in immobility, in mobility. Solo, duo, trio, sextet, group.

Develop and work on a perception of light in a given place. Work and be worked by the movement of light from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Identify the cardinal points of the inside-outside architecture. Imagine an open feedback session on Thursday afternoon, to allow time to analyze what happened on the following day, the last day of the workshop?

Greetings :

Working in the school's magnificent entrance hall with 14 students. Keeping and integrating student and teacher passages. Turn it into a search engine. Make another room available for double organization in small groups, for example.

Every afternoon with Nico Morcillo, an amplified guitarist, to explore rhythm and vibration - another way to experience inner/outer spaces, free or impeded dynamics.

Be accompanied by Cornucopiae dancer and assistant Bekaye Diaby.

Tools :

Keep a record of the 5 days in any form. Written, filmed, photographed, audio recorded, drawn...

Set out and share your expectations right from the start of the workshop.

On the last day, small groups take stock of the path(s) experimented.
